Dunns Food and Drinks Ltd was established in 2001 as a result of a reorganisation of Joseph Dunn Bottlers and the subsequent sale of that company’s assets and heritage. 

DFD not only purchased the assets and heritage of Joseph Dunn Bottlers but adopted the philosophy of innovation and the constituent divisions – Food Service, Dispense Draught and Licensed, Soft Drinks and Third Party Distribution.  

The history of Joseph Dunn Bottlers Ltd and the lessons we learned are still pivotal to our development. 

Throughout its 126 year history Joseph Dunn Bottlers had continued to be a major influence on the Scottish food and drink sector – from being a major bottler and distributor of Guinness in the early 1970s to the purchase and subsequent sale of Strathmore Water, the acquisition of strong regional brands such as Solripe, Curries, 5* Ginger Beer, and continuing to bottle and distribute 750ml glass, being appointed sole agent and distributor for licensed brands such as Gilde and Grolsch through its licensed business, Dunn and Moore, to the entry into food services.  This great company continued to push the boundaries and accept new challenges. 

Dunns Food and Drinks has continued in this vein.  We have taken Duncans Food Services to a point where it is now recognised within the Scottish market as a major contributor and player. 

Our soft drinks brands including Curries, 5* Ginger Beer, 750ml returnable glass range and the most recent member of our family, Krystal Klear Spring Water, are being sold throughout Scotland and in all national, regional and independent wholesalers, cash and carries and CTN outlets. 

We remain well represented in the licensed trade though our dispense operation and we are in fact the largest independent dispense company in Scotland.  Our licensed trade operation which has fantastic pedigree for the Dunn and Moore days continues to grow through innovative selling. 

Third party sales and distribution is still an area of our business which gives us great satisfaction.  Great and hige brands such as Buckfast, Vimto, Crystal/Villa Soft Drinks have placed their faith in us to represent, establish and grow their brands in Scotland - and we are delighted to say their faith has been justified.

Our philosophy is simple – “under promise and over deliver” – a constant reminder of what makes a great, efficient and profitable business.
